Project 1 : Cluster Analysis

Problem Statement 

A major e-commerce company operating within the south west region of Nigeria has been experiencing stagnated growth, despite having a sizeable customer base.

Management wishes to optimize sales by understanding customer segments in order to tailor trade offers and activities for specific Segments

Methodology

EDA: Starting with comprehensive EDA,

Data exploration involves customer distance analysis using (Euclidean calculation method)from the major markets within the city to understand the impact of geography & space distribution on customer clusters.


ANALYSIS: Project team then utilized the K-means algorithm (from Python library) to analyze the data and identified 6 district attributes. 

Outcome 

Insight & Recommendation Stage: Our comprehensive analysis revealed 6 distinct customer segments with clear attributes and insights to support customized offer and tailored activities for each segment.


Implementation & Result Tracking:

Working in collaboration with clients' staff, Our transformation team supported successful implementation of project recommendation, with a resultant 5% sales growth in the first one month of implementation. 


Project II : 

Pre-investment Analysis

Problem Statement 

Our client, is an investment Banker wishes to conduct a comprehensive pre-investment analysis on a distressed bank in West Africa, to support decision "To Buy" or "Not to Buy". Our task was to implement an analysis of performance by bench making industry performance

Methodology

1) EDA: For explorative data analysis, we explored both internal & external industry data to look for trend, pattern and outliers in the performance of banks within the industry in the specific period of time.


2) Our Analysis employed the K- means clustering to identify performance clusters and compared the performance of the target bank within the industry to evaluate the performance status within the Banking industry.

Outcome

The insight so obtained from this extensive analysis is then used, together with other financial and performance indicators to arrive at a fair value offer for the sellers consideration.

Project III : Brand Awareness & Market Research

Problem Statement 

XYZ is a manufacturing company in the confectionery sector. The Company is interested in understanding the Market Size Estimate for the South West Market for their line of product.

ZYX is interested in deeper understanding of peanut Burger Market within the South West Region of Nigeria The Company has approached Pulse Digital limited to conduct a Market Sturdy with a view to understand/ answer the following questions:


1) What is the Market Opportunity for the Peanut nut Burgers in the whole of South West Nigeria

2) What is the market Share for ZYX within the sturdy area?

3) What addressable opportunity is there for XZY within the south west Region

4 ) Marketing & Distribution insights & Opportunities for improved market penetration's for XYZ within the South West Market

Methodology

DATA GATHERING:  A detailed online survey was initiated to gather consumer insights in areas within the South West Region, covering Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara, Ondo, & Oshun States.


ANALYSIS: EDA Analysis of the collected data was done using various python algorithm to  understand patterns and trends within the data.

A regression model was fit unto the data using SPPS , to understand the key attributes influencing consumer purchase behavior.

Outcome 

Insight & Recommendation Stage

Our comprehensive analysis revealed that the Peanut Market within the South West regions is Huge, estimated at NGN 30 Billion/year

Low/ Mid income earner , aged between 34 - 45 yrs of age represents the key markets with highest per capital consumption for peanuts burgers . Consumer promotion will do well to target this population segment

Oshun, Ondo & Ekiti States shows the highest per capital consumption, with the South West States, the therefore presents the best sales opportunity for peanut burgers in terms of sales & revenue

The Southwest Market is dominated by 7 key players with Phocus brand being the market leader. Other market leaders include R&L delights, Kinds delight, classic peanut, Nutzy and Checkers peanut.

Some brands are observed to be strong in their base state, while they are observed to be quite week in other key states.

This represent good opportunity for increased marketing & distribution efforts for such brand in areas where they are perceived to be week.
